While members of three Region One teams are busy slinging beats instead of footballs, Logan high school gridders this week are busy preparing for the invasion in-vasion Friday of the title-bound Box Elder Bees. This game will be the homecoming event for Logan high and many extra activities ac-tivities are being worked out by the student body to stir up pep and interest in the game while at the same time Coach Burns Crookston is determined that his team will make a substantially better showing than it did last week when North Cache defeated defeat-ed them 12-0. The other game will see Websr and Ogden with one win and one loss each, battle bat-tle for the Junction city title in Ogden. Logan high fans were considerably consid-erably disappointed over the Grizzlies showing last week against North Cache, but upsets have happened before, and they will still happen. With this thought in mind, the Grizzlies have been putting in a little over time and a little harder work this week in an effort ef-fort to polish up their offense which so badly bogged down against the Bulldogs. The cause of the many numerous fumbles by the Logan ball carriers has been the subject of a lot of work by Coach Crookston, and Duane Adams, sub quarterback, who is an excellent kicker and has been doing a lot of the signal calling for the main eleven. It may be that due to his better kicking he will get the nod over Dean Webber, who has held down the starting post up- to now. " The rest of the backfield will be composed of Captain Dean Baugh and Jack Sorenson as halfbacks half-backs and Big Bill Ryan at fullback,'' full-back,'' Sorenson has been bothered by an infected jaw the past two weeks but expects to be in shape for the homecoming game, On the line, things remain about the same as they were against North Cache, with Groll and Davis ends, Dunford Weston and Peterson tackles, and Boyle and Skabelund guards. Roy Wall again gets the starting nod at center. The game will start at 2:30 p. m. on the Grizzly field. |
