Show Touch Football Opens College Intramurals In the opening round of play .in intramural touch football at Utah State Agricultural college Tuesday three teams emerged victorious and moved into second round berths, two of them winning, by forfeit. Only game of the day saw Sigma Sig-ma Alpha Epsilon trample Pi Kappa Alpha 26-0 to begin a serious ser-ious bid for the title. Last year's champion, Sigma Chi, went past Beta Kappa and Sigma (Phi Epsilon Ep-silon was avjnrded a decision over Lambda Chi. Outstanding for the victors were Clint Nelson, Jack Shaw, Melvin Briggs and Dale Nelson who sparked spark-ed the team on ,to an easy win. Only first round frattrnity game was not played Monday was the match between Sigma Nu and Delta Phi, which will be played Thursday along with contests between be-tween Engineers and Commerce and Southtrn Idaho and the new faculty entry. Wednesday's games will see six teams clash for places in the club intramural league, Coach Joseph R. Jenson announced. Schedule for that day includes matches between Lehi and Smaleter, Castle Valley and Weber, Studentville and Mor-mit, Mor-mit, Jordan and Bear Lake, California Cali-fornia club and Independent Student Stu-dent association, Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college and Wellsville. Touch football play will probably last two wekes, Coach Jenson sadl, and will be followed by fraternity "A" basketball which will begin In tht forepart of November. Wrestling will be the third sport on the docket. |
