Show Mammoth Celebration At Logan July 4th The Central Celebration Committee Com-mittee for the 4th of July celebration cele-bration in Logan extends a wel -come invitation to all the towns of Cache Valley tto celebrate -with Logan as it is the only patriotic celebration scheduled in the Valley Val-ley on that day The committed feels that it has , especially 3 major "attractions that are outstanding. out-standing. These will be: 1. The Big Patriotic Parade. In vieur of the world situation this year, a special effort is being made to make the parade z&s patriotic as possible. Instead of a Marshall of the Day leading the parade this year, atan sievens e.yen. horseman of Ogden will drive Henry Nelson's beautiful mare "Loveletter" on. his elaborate rubber tired rig. This horse and rig were one of the outstanding features at the recent UAC Horse Show. This rig cost more than $500.00. Stevens, the driver will be dressed in an "Uncle Sam" uniform. r J All the waras ot L,ogan ami Cache stakes will have floats rep resenting events In American History. This will a1o apply to a number $f Civic Organizations including Logan City. Many ot the business houses will be represented rep-resented in the parade. The bands for the parade and the celebration will be the Franklin High School Band, North Cache High School Band, Logan Sr. and Jr. High School Bands, South Cache High School Band, and tho Wellsville Jr. High School Band. Another feature of the parade will be 50 members of the Cache County Canter Club on beautiful horses with each rider wearing a patriotic hat and carrying an American flag on blue mounted staff. Tlie parade will form on South Main at 10 a. m. and march to 5th North and disband. dis-band. The major event for tha after noon will be two. championship softball games at the Fair ground at 2 P m. The Hells of Pomeroy state champion girls softball tenjn of Portland, Oregon have a remarkable re-markable record back of them. They have won many games from mens teams. They will P.v a- . gainst the Shamrocks ot bait Lake City, Champion girls soft- . ball team of Utah. This team has many wins including mens softball teams. The Shamrocks beat the Lions mens softball team at the Franklin Day Celebration Cele-bration at Franklin Idaho June 14th. , . Kay DeHart, the only girl wind mill pitcher is a sensation and is the main pitcher for the Shamrocks. Sham-rocks. Following the girls game will be a mens softball game between be-tween the General Electric Mens Utah Champions and the Lund-berg Lund-berg Motor, Cache Valley Champions. Cham-pions. The Lundberg team will I be strengthened by some of the best players in all of Cacho Valley. Val-ley. The main opening attraction Is the big Fireworks Pageant Drama at the USAC stadium at 8 o'clock. Nothing like this has ever boon attempted since 1928 when the big homecoming celebration was held in Logan. The fire works drama is entitled "The Birth of America". Patriotic floats in con nection with large fireworks set pieces will be used to portray important historical events in early American History. There will be 5 big acts including a specialty of ballet dancing. The South Cache High School Band will be the concert band for tha Pageant. A fine loud speaker system will be installed so that all the spectators may hear as well as see. Before and after each act will be a gorgeous die-play die-play of fire works consistliiK of flash and sound bombs, many kind of rockets, large bhells, wheels and an assortment of pyro technics never shown here before. be-fore. Supplementing these events of tho cel"hation will ho the big mid-way on the Jr. High School Grounds witi. 5 big rides. There will be special celebration balls iat the Dansante and BhowB at 'all the theatres. More dotaila I will be announced later. |
