Show Vets Have Free r Choice of Jobs Fi'eedom of choice is being ac- ' ' ' corded honorably discharged members mem-bers of the armed forces in the matter of jobs they are offered, regardless of the restrictions of employment stabilization, according to J. F. Jordan, manager of the Logan office of the United States Employment Service. This policy is operative on a national basis under the direction of Paul V. McNutt, war manpower director. "It can be assumed," Mr. Jordan Jor-dan said, ''that the returning veterans vet-erans prefer war-essential jobs, i and our experience indicates this ' is true, but they are free to accept ac-cept other work of their choice, particularly if it offers greater permanency." This modification of stabiliza-I stabiliza-I tion requirements affects particularly particu-larly the veteran who is returning to civil life under handicap of disability, such as those whose wounds incurred in action incapacitate incapa-citate them for further military work. Full record of all such hospital cases are provided the home office 1 of the U. S. Employment Service . in advance of his arrival home, in the form of complete registration registra-tion cards prepared at the nos pital from which ithe discharge is issued. One of the USES duties as clearing house for vctorans is to assign trained and competent interviewers to the discharge hospitals hos-pitals for preparation and forwarding for-warding of these experience records re-cords to the veteran's home office. |
