Show FAIR SCHEDULED FOR fl AUGUST Three Day Exposition Planned by Leaders The Cache county fair for 1944 will be held in Logan, August 24, 1 25 and 26 after being cancelled for the past two years because of war conditions, the executive committee com-mittee of the sponsoring County Farm Bureau decided Thursday night at a meeting with representatives repre-sentatives of the county and Logan city commissions and the Logan chamber of commerce. The date for the fair was advanced ad-vanced two weeks from previous proposals to avoid conflicts with the Franklin, Idaho, county fair winch will be held the first week in August. Tentative selection of committee commit-tee chairmen was completed and plans were laid for further organization organ-ization of committees. The group favored inclusion of both a rodeo and horse show in the entertainment entertain-ment if they can be arranged. The group voted to go ahead immediately im-mediately and publish and distribute distri-bute a revised premium list. This will enable exhibitors to prepare articles that will be eligible for premiums, especially in the home and community department. A discussion of renovation of the grounds and buidings also featured the meeting and they voted to act early in order to secure se-cure adequate entertainment for fair patrons. The central committee will include in-clude E. E. Hendricks of Lewiston, president of the County Farm Bureau, general chairman; Alfred Gnehm of Logan, bureau vice president; Allen Olsen of Young, bureau secretary; Mrs. Florence Allen, chairman of the Bureau's home and community section; County Commissioner A. J. Fuhri-man, Fuhri-man, City Commissioner George B. Bowen, and M. R. Hovey, secretary sec-retary of the chamber of commerce. com-merce. ' Tentative committee heads named nam-ed were: Advertising, A. W. Chambers; concessions, William Walton: grounds, Mr. Bowen and Mr. Fuhriman; horses, George Webb; cattle, John H. Schenk; poultry. William Worley; junior division, Reuben Hanson, and rodeo, Parley Rees, chairman, and Parley Hall, vice chairman. |
