Show College Trustees Accept Grant The Utah State Agricultural college col-lege board of . trustees accepted a $1,000 grant from the Rockefeller foundation, appointed a new professor pro-fessor of silviculture, and granted several travel authorizations at the monthly meeting in Logan Saturday. The Rockefeller foundation grant was provided to promote Inter-American Inter-American relations in Utah through college sponsorship of lectures lec-tures and institutes, college officials offi-cials announced. Dr. T. W. Daniel, former member mem-ber of the University of California faculty, was aproii;.tsd as professor profes-sor of silviculture in the school of forestry, succeeding Dr. R. P. McLaughlin, who resigned. Dr. Mc Laughlin has been on leave during the present term. Travel authorization was granted by the board to: Dr. Lewis M. Turner, dean of the school of forestry, to attend meetings of western school of forestry for-estry heads in Spokane, Wash., February 22 to 28. Dr. Leonard H. Pollard, associate professor of vegetable crops, to discuss agricultural marketing, particularly methods of grading, packing and marketing celery, at regional meetings in Stockton, Cal. Rachel B. Yocum, assistant professor pro-fessor of physical education, to attend meetings of a section of the national women's athletic association as-sociation in New York City, N. Y., April 25 to May 1. W. W. Owens, extension service director, and G. Alvin Carpenter, extension economist and state farm labor director for the extension service, to attend meetings on the 1944 farm labor program in Denver, Den-ver, Colo., February 28 and March 1. |
