Show Richards Resigns Board Post i After serving Logan City as a member of its Board of Education during the past thirteen years, 1 Dr. B. L. Richards tenders his resignation at a meeting of the ; Board of Education held Wednes- ! day night.' He recently purchased j a home on Third North and 435 East, leaving the municipal ward . from which he was elected to the position- of member of the board representing the First municipal ward. President N. E. Munk in reviewing review-ing the pholosophy of Dr. Richards Rich-ards on public schools made the following observations: "I want to express my appreciation to Dr. Richards for his untiring service to the Logan City School system, his keen appreciation for the fine things 'in life, such as, music, art, and a genuine knowledge of what skill in the use of tools means in the life of a boy or girl who will apply himself. In his efforts to place before Logan students, summer crafts classes, summer recreation classes and opportunities opportuni-ties to hear and participate in the finer cultural programs, Dr. Richards has shown a high quality qual-ity of educational leadership which has made him a friends to all youth. "He enjoys the beautifying of surroundings and has lent his effort ef-fort in beautifying school grounds in the city. His thinking has been that improvement of grounds should be a continuous project, and that each year should see mode planting on school property done under the supervision of an experienced landscape architect," says president Munk. "No board member has done more for the holding before teachers a desire for advancement in education. His ' knowledge of higher education has been a distinct dis-tinct benefit to the district in holding out to the teachers the high ethical standards of education. educa-tion. He has encouraged the teacher to acquire more knowledge knowl-edge in the field of teaching by taking advantage of the district's policy of , 'Leave of Absence Contract; Con-tract; and has felt that this program pro-gram might even be. expanded to the mutual advantage of teachers and the school system," commented Fresident Munk. .
