Show JUDGES NAMED FOR DAIRY SHOW Oregon Expert Will Rate Purebreds Program for the 30th annual Richmond Black and White days, which attracts outstanding Hol-stein-Friesian cattle from Utah and Idaho, to be conducted Wednesday Wed-nesday and Thursday, May IS and 17, was announced today by F. T. Whittle, show chairman. S. B. Hall, Gresham, Ore., Mul-tanomah Mul-tanomah county agricultural agent and official judge and classifier of the Holstein-Frieslan association for the 11 western states, has been secured as judge for the registered cattle, Mr. Whittle reported. Elmer Hi. Gibson, Manti, Sanpete San-pete county agent, will judge the grade, 4-H and Future Farmers of America club entries and the horses will be rated by E. J. Fel-sted, Fel-sted, secretary of the Ogden chamber of commerce and recognized recog-nized as a prominent western horse Judge. Events will get underway May 16 at 9 a. m. with assembly of cattle. Judging of purebred bulls and the FFA and 4-H judging team contests are scheduled for 9:30 a. m. Future farm exhibits will be rated at 10 a. m. followed by judging of the best fitted calf class at 11 a. m., and of pure, bred aged cows and grade classe at 11:15 a. m. Luncheon will feature short, talks by state agricultural and civic officials and a brief program. Mr. Whittle said. Judging will continue at 1:30 p. m., with the cow testing group and cattle will be released at 5 p. m. Educational features and entertainment will be arranged. The horse show Thursday at 9 a. m. will feature classes for draft horses, draft geldings and draft mares, saddle horses and all types of pleasure horses. A team pullinijj contest, without entry limitation, will be ' staged with high . cash prizes arranged for various classes. |
