A social evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mariner ' Anderson on Wednesday. Supper ' was served to the following guests. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Hyde and son Billy of Brigham City, Mrs. Louise Benson and two children Maurene and Sharon from Fresno, California. Califor-nia. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Griffin and two daughters, Florence and Georgia. The latter a nurse in training at the Dee hospital at Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Alvis and son Spencer, who has been employed em-ployed as steel sharpner in Tennessee Ten-nessee is moving to another project pro-ject in Duchesne, Utah, which gives them a chance to stop off for a few days visit with relatives in Newton and Smithfield. While waiting for his call to join the navy in which he has recently re-cently enlisted, Ariel Benson of Los Angeles is visiting with relatives rel-atives and friends in Newton. Dick Griffin is confined to' the Budge hospital, suffering with a case of blood poisoning in his arm, caused from a boil. Mrs. Ruth Griffin and cniidren spent Thursday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Heber Cronquist of Benson, celebrating her three children's birthdays which come close together. They are Billy, Pauline and Idella. Mrs. Mattie Griffin submitted to an operation on her hand Wednesday Wed-nesday at a local hospital. - Joyce Cronquist of Benson ward is spending a week visiting with Beverly Griffin. The following members of the Ontra Nu club met at the home of Mrs. Floyd Beck, Thursday and enjoyed a social game of bridge, Venice Benson, Phyllis Blanchard, Afton Richardson, Larus Jenkins, Leona Anderson, Ruby Tudden-ham, Tudden-ham, Bessie Benson. Guests included in-cluded IeOra Jenkins, Iris Nebeker and Norma Alvis. High score was won by Venice Benson and low eluded Leona Jenkins, Iris Nebeker went to Norma. On Thursday evening a group of friends honored them at a no-host party in the Smithfield park. Included were Mr. and Mrs. Osmond Alvis, Mr., and Mrs. Amos Rigby, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barker, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Rasmussen' Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Nyman and Anthon Skanchy. A pleasant social afternoon was spent Monday at the home of Mrs. Daisy Larsen. The occasion being her birthday anniversary. Present were Mrs. Bill Barker, Mrs. William Christensen, Mrs' Golden Rigby. W. J. Barker and E. L. Larsen left Wednesday morning for a weeks vacation in Yellowstone Mrs. Mariner Anderson entertained enter-tained Wednesday afternoon honoring hon-oring her daughter Pauline on her seventh birthday anniversary Twenty-four guests were entertained entertain-ed with games and stories. City motored to the home of his mother, Mrs. Mary Rigby, Thursday Thurs-day to take his two sisters, Mrs. Ida Tutle and daughter Jolene, who live in California and Mrs. Gwen Swinyard and two children, Shirley and Billy, from Chicago to Salt Lake City, where they left on trains for their respective homes. The girls have been visiting visit-ing with their mother during the summer. Prior to their departure Mr. and Mrs. Golden Rigby entertained enter-tained with a family dinner at their home.
