Show Teacher-Trainee Conference Set To discuss problems of student .caching, students who will begin irartice teaching and supervising teachers of home economics education edu-cation in high schools throughout the state will attend a conference at Utah State Agricultural col-I col-I lege this evening and Saturday, Miss Virginia Phillips, assistant professor of home economics education, edu-cation, announces. Opening session of the week-end conference has been scheduled for 7:30 p. m. Friday in the reception lounge of the Commons building. The meeting will acquaint students stud-ents who will begin practice teaching and their supervisors, Miss Phillips said. In a general session Saturday morning, Mrs. Almeda P. Brown, dean of the school of home economics, eco-nomics, and Dr. E. A. Jacobsen, dean of the school of education, will deliver welcome addresses. A discussion of problems connected with . student practice teaching will be feature of the morning meetings while Saturday afternoon, after-noon, supervisors and staff members mem-bers of the school of home economics eco-nomics at he college will separate into various discussion groups to consider special problems. Supervisors who will be present at the student-supervisor conference confer-ence conference will . be Ruby J. Harris and Eva Beutler of North Cache high school; Mrs. May Poulsen and Mrs. Edith Nyman of Smithfield junior high school; Mrs. Gwenna A. Bauer and Mrs. Iva Carlson of Pleasant Grove high school; Mrs. Josie E. Stew- art, Mrs. Merl Johnson, and Mrs Margaret Potter of Davis higl t school; Mrs. Thelma F. Allisor of South Cache high school; Mrs Helen Peirce, Mrs. Enid Fish I burn, and Mrs. Mary Robhins ol Brigham high school; . Mrs. Mar jorie Holdaway and Mrs. Hilda Knudsen of Proyo high school, and Mrs. Onita Shirtz and Mrs! Millard Baer of Bear River high school. Begininng Monday, 19 senior women at USAC will practice teaching in Utah high schools for a six week period. They will teach home economics on a full time basis. -Students who will practice teaching are: Bertha Ashby, Ev-eliyn Ev-eliyn Applonie and Betty Phillips Box Elder high school; Annie' Jean Armstrong, and Carol Sargent Sar-gent at Murray high school; Lu Jean Carver at South Cache; Ruby Ru-by Collard, Lucille Danielsen at North Cache high school; Roma Freeman and Eris Hunsaker at Smithfield junior high school-Lenore school-Lenore McGregor and Alice Hodff-es Hodff-es at Bear River; Priscilla Mill! gan and Maurine Randall at Davis high school; Grace Postma at Provo, and Wanda Winn and Ruth Marie Richardson at Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove high school; Alice Wy-att Wy-att and Kathryn Weeks at Lincoln high school. |
