Show I Lecture-Author Coming to USAC Louis M. Hacker, well-known New York author, lecturer and professor, will deliver a lecture series on recent economic and political developments during the 1945 Utah State Agricultural college col-lege summer session, college officials of-ficials announce. Mr. Hacker has been assistant professor of economics at Columbia Colum-bia University since 1942. Prior to that time he was lecturer in economics at that institution. From 1923-25 and in 1928-29 he was assistant editor of the New International Encyclopedia supplement supple-ment and was assistant editor of the Encyclopedia of the social sciences in 1932. During 1934 Mr. Hacker was contributing editor to the Columbia Colum-bia encyclopedia and since 1924 has held the position of contribution contribu-tion editor of the New International Interna-tional Yearbook. Mr. Hacker, a popular lecturer, has been guest speaker in American Amer-ican history at the University of Wisconsin, was visiting professor in American history at Ohio state university during the summer of 1939, and lecturer at the Wellesly summer institute in 1941 besides serving as lecturer for the New School of social research and the American institute of banking. A regular contributor to Harpers, Har-pers, Nation and New ReDublic magazines, Mr. Hacker has won national fame as an author and editor. He edited the Columbia college contemporary civilization manual and source book and is co-editor of the United tates and its place in world affairs. Some of his books include, "The, Farmer is Doomed" "Short History of the New Deal," and "Triumph of American Am-erican Capitalism." i MiiiiiiMiin, |
