Show USAC President Accorded Honor Dr. E. G. Peterson, president of Utah State Agricultural college, has been appointed a member of the National Committee on Rural Scouting for 1945 according to word received at the college Friday Fri-day from Dr. Elbert K. Fretwell, chief scout executive, scout headquarters, head-quarters, New York City. The appointment was made by Walter W. Head, president of the executive scout board. President 'Peterson will succeed the late President R. A. Pearson of the University of Maryland who served on the committee for many years. He will represent the American Land Grant Colleges and universities univer-sities on this committee. The committee on Rural Scouting Scout-ing is related to "all questions pertaining to the promotion of the Scout program in rural districts, dis-tricts, and its adaptations to the needs and conditions of rural boys." During the past year the committee has especially promoted agriculture and conservation services ser-vices and extended scouting to small communities and along the uial routes. . |
