Show Sidelights On the County Fair R.. A. Riohter of Bozeman, Mont, who furnished the rodeo stock for; the recent Salt Lake City celebration rodeo, has 50 bucking taroncs. 20 wild Brahma bulls. 20 long iiorned steers and 20 polled angus roping calves. After the Preston show all this stock will rest up at the Cache County Fair grounds until the fair here, August Au-gust 24-26. It should be in excellent excel-lent shape for the rodeo. Frank Flitwood of Arizona is a new clown to appear for the rodeo. He is considered one of (jhe most daring and .best bull fighters on the circuit and has to climb the fences many times during the show. His partner and co-worker is his mule, Whirligig. Whirl-igig. They make a good team and help to keep up interest and things moving. . John Jordan is also a new performer per-former for the fair. He is an ex-oellen ex-oellen rodeo announcer. He has -announced at the Madison Square Garden show including the last one. His voice is pleasing and he knows the rodeo game. There is never a dull moment with Jordan at the mike. Jordan visited here recently and was very impressed with the set-up and possibilities for developing a great annual show at the Cache County Fair grounds. He has seen many show grounds but for a natural, none excell.the grounds here. It is well located, ample room, plenty of shade, water and grass. All it needs is development. It could become be-come another Pendelton or Cheyenne Chey-enne show. The Cache County Farm Bureau, sponsors, the Logan Chamber of Commerce, the County and City Conunissioners and other civic organizations should take note of this suggestion. The Logan Mounted Police has accepted an invitation from the Rodeo Committee to participate parti-cipate in the .Grand Entry each night of the rodeo and stage a demonstration preceding the performance. The Mounted ' Police Po-lice present a good picture with I their colors, uniforms and horses. They are rehearsing regularly for the event. To save extra travel and inconvenience in-convenience the Rodeo Committee has selected three fine looking ladies to lead the grand entry They are Maxine Peterson and Eva Napper of Logan arid Ethel Mae Crookston of North Logan. Mrs. Napper is the vice president of the Cache Canter club. Miss Peterson will ride the beautiful white horse, Bonnie, owned by E. Fred Spencer of Logan. Miss Peterson Peter-son rode this horse at the recent Logan Horse show and carried off a number of ribbons. Lloyd Hirst has a fine dog act. He has his dogs well trained and they compare with any on the circuit. Lloyd and his dogs I add much to the show, especial- ly for the children. Bob Rucker and Eila Tyler will appear in the fancy trick riding and trick roping. They work fast and with skill. Tickets for reserved .seats will go on sale in a few days. The hew grand stands on the east side of the arena and the center grand tand on the west will be held for reserved seats. The section on the north arid south of the main grand stand will be for general admission. The plan is to have the grand stand seats sold in advance as much as posible. |
