Fine Hereford Purchased By Jensen Brothers Ranch Cache Valley's reputatoin of a livestock center was greatly enhanced en-hanced recently with the arrival on the Jensen Brothers ranch in Logan of TT Super Royal an outstanding, out-standing, registered Hereford BulL The animal was purchased by Ray E. Jensen at the National Western Stock show in Denver, Colo., from the Thorton Hereford Ranch of Gunnison, Colo. The price, $4100. The animal comes from one of the outstanding Hereford Here-ford herds in the nation, and his former owner showed the Grand Champion Bull at the big Western West-ern show. "TT" is from a long line of prize winners. Last summer he won top place at the Gunnison show and his full sister has won the championship honors of several sever-al Western shows. John T. Caine III, former Logan Lo-gan resident who is now manager of the National Western Show, and David S'harp Jr., assistant S'.ate 4-H Club leader, assisted Mr. Jensen Jen-sen in selection of the animal. "I am highly pleased to see such a fine Hereford go to Cache Valley." Mr. Caine declared. Other Oth-er comments were made by Harry H. Smith, former livestock specialist special-ist for Utah Agricultural Exten. sion service, now holding the same post at Colorado S ate College, Col-lege, who said "the bull will be a distinct credit to ti State of Utah." Mr. Jensen and his sons, Mar-riner Mar-riner and Van, first became interested in-terested in Hereford breeding six years ago when they had eight head in 4-H club projects. Their herd has grown to 60 head of fine breeding stock. Now, the whole Jensen family is interested in the project and all have won honors at various shows. Myrle, the attractive daughter of the family, has won so many I awards the family has a hard time keeping track of her. She won the grand championship of a recent Ogden show; had the champion 4-H club entry at another an-other Ogden show; and has won honors at the Salt Lake Junior Fat Stock show on several occasions. occa-sions. The two younger members of the Jensen family, Gail 12, and Neil, 11, already are enthused about show work and are extremely ex-tremely proud of the new addition to their herd.
