Show LOCALS, Mrs. Clair Read, Mrs. Earl Me; Clurg, and Mrs. lean Taylor en-1 tertained the Junior Literary club Monday evening at the Bluebird. Mrs. Carl Clark, Mrs. Lois Ras-mussen Ras-mussen and Mrs. Heber Whiting were in charge of the program. Mrs. Edward Doudle sang three solos. She was accompanied by Mrs. Johnson, piano, and Mrs. Raylins violin. Mrs. Mildred Cannon Can-non gave the book review, "Remembering "Re-membering Laughter" by Wallace Stigner. Luncheon was served to 28 ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Alney are spending a month in Los Angeles, where they will visit friends and relativess. Oliver Nelson spent Sunday in Salt Lake City on business. The Book Lurrie Literary club met Friday at the home of Mrs. Walter Snelgrove. Guest reader for Mrs. Lowell Plowman was Miss Gwendella Thornley who read ''The Robe" by Lloyd Douglas. A delicious tray luncheon was served serv-ed to 8 club members. Special guest was Mrs. Willis Sheen, On Feb. 11 Mrs. Vadis Hillyard will entertain. Second Class Fireman David L. Phillips of Farragut, Idaho, is spending a ten day furlough with his mother, Mrs. ElLa Phillips and family. Second Class Fireman Lyman Hansen son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hansen is spending a ten dayj furlough. He is stationed at Farragut, Far-ragut, Idaho. M. P. Don Williams who is stationed sta-tioned at Texas, is spending a ten day furlough with his sparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Williams. Heber Whiting and Oliver Nil-son Nil-son attended, the .stat? fish and game meeting at Salt Lake on Sunday. John Holman of Sugar City, Idaho and Miss Dorine Richards of Spring Canyon, were the guests of Bud Low on Tuesday. , Mrs. Richard Roskelley gave a review of the book, "Our World" by Wendel Wilkie, at the Ladies I Literary club, Thursday afternoon 1 at the home of Mrs. Thomas W. I Jarvis. Mrs. Lenord Miles, Mrs. Grant Holman and Mrs. Oliver Nilson were special guests. A tray luncheon was served by the hostess host-ess to 16 ladies. Mrs. Jarvis was assisted in serving by her daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. Bert Reese. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Godridge entertained en-tertained at a dinner party Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in honor of Bud Low who expects to leave for the army soon. Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Tripp of Richmond were the guests of Mr. ana Mrs. William Read on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Low, Ned Low and Bud Low were the guests of Mrs. Golden Cook at Hyde Park on Sunday. A party will be given Monday evening at the Third ward church in honcr of Ray Crockett who is leaving Tuesday for the armed forces. A good attendance is desired. |
