Show Nellie's Session. Manti, March 17,1392. Dear Lottie: I thooght I had better bet-ter write to you again, as the last letter I wrote to you fell into the hands of Joshna. Well, it has been my turn to attend a carpet rag bee. I think everybody's every-body's carpet must be wearing out, judging from tho number of carpet bees they are having, but the one we had down at Hosford's capped the climax! Why, Sarah Barton sewed seven balls of carpet rags, at least that is what she said, but I don't believe it, whileTish Hall entertained the company telling about "Hard times in Kansas." She had some difficulty in finishing her story, because May Tuttle talked so much that Vinnia Hall's jaws ached because she didnot get to say something. Yon know Bell Fox is going to get married before long, and that Thella Hosford had the cheek to ask her if she couldn't come to her wedding. I never was so shocked in my life as I was when I heard Mrs. Barton and Dr. Hos. ford's mother talking about their beaux and mashes. Why, Sarah didn't get half a chance to get a young man1 because her mother makes her (Sarah) stand back while she (the mother) goes ' ahead, if there happens to be any man around. |
