R Anderson Dies At Age 78 William Villiam Richard Anderson 78 died at his home in Manti fanU last Friday after a lingering illness A son of Christian and Emily Pickering Anderson he was born October 14 1872 at Salt Lake City and his parents brought him to Manti in a covered wagon wagon wa wa- gon when he was just 3 weeks old Mr Anderson was engaged in agriculture most of his his' life being being be be- ing known for his abundant energy energy en en- ergy and his willingness to work He Ic spent much time lime logging in inthe inthe inthe the mountains and was doing a aman's amans amans aman's amans aman's mans man's work in the logging camps when he was in his mid teens He also worked as a butcher in the Hoggan Meat 1 Market in Manti 1 for several years He married Mary lary Jane Johnson John John- Johnson son on September 6 1892 in the Manti lanti Temple and they ma made e their home in Manti until 1916 when they moved to Burley Idaho They moved to Spanish Fork in 1838 and in 1943 returned returned re re- re turned to make their home in Manti ManU Mrs Anderson died in Manti June 14 1950 Surviving Mr 11 Anderson are arc 12 of his his fourteen sons and daughters Mrs Mary Iary Anderson Jessie William Villiam Samuel Robert and Constant Leon Anderson Burley Idaho Wm Vm Anderson Jr Twin Falls Idaho Mrs 1 Ethel A. C Anderson Centerfield Funeral Held field Funeral services were held in inthe inthe inthe the North Ward Yard chapel under unde r the direction of Bishop Calvin Keller on Tuesday afternoon I I The prayer in the home was by Wm Vm Rust with service prayers being offered by Osmond Olsen a and d Ivan Barton Heber C. C Bishop a grandson dedicated the grave Prelude and postlude music at the services was furnished by Mr vIr and Mrs 1 Easton Moffitt 1 and musical numbers included The TheOld TheOld TheOld Old Refrain by a ladies trio consisting of Edna Pack Amy Bond and Carol Lowry accompanied by Della Delia Cox vocal solo That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine Une by Morris lorris Nielsen of Ephraim accompanied by Rita Shand vocal solo Holy City by Amy Bond accompanied by Eunice Garbe and Sometime Well We'll Understand sung as a 3 duet by Mr 11 and Mrs 1 Ellis E E. Johnson Speaker James M. M Anderson told of the life lived N N N N N N N N N ti N N N N N N N N N N N N NN by Mr Anderson of his long faithful service and of the many good things he had done He spoke of the nice large Anderson Ander Ander- son family telling th that t they agreed on problems and had a happy home life Speaker Nels H. H spoke about the family telling of their twelve children and their being into a fine family All of Mr Andersons Anderson's living children were in attendance attendance attendance attend attend- ance at the services He told of the faithfulness of Mr and Mrs 1 Anderson and said they taught the principles of the gospel gospel gospel gos gos- pel in their home Bishop Keller said he and his b brother l' l 0 the l' l had been good boyhood boyhood boyhood boy boy- hood friends of the Anderson boys He gave words of consolation consolation consolation conso conso- lation to the family and thanked the many friends of the family for their kindnesses |
