Show I Manti Girl Wins Kerr Canning Award at State Fair JOE ANN TATTON TATION OF MANTI 1 TO GET FREE CHICAGO TRIP 1 Miss Joe Ann Tatton daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Tatton of Manti Mantill Man Man- ti till led Sanpete H 4 Club entrants I at the Utah State tate Fair by winning first place in the Kerr Canning contest one of the highest awards given a H 4 Club member at the fair She will be given a trip to the National Club congress to be beheld beheld beheld held in Chicago with all expenses paid by the Kerr Canning CoIt CoIt Co It wasn't luck that won Joe Ann I this honor states Miss Bernice Sanpete Home Demonstration Demonstration Demonstration Demon Demon- leader It lilt was hours and hours of good hard work She has taken five years of H 4 club work in foods and this year she helped lead a second year foods club Her record books were all judged and inthe in hi hithe I Ithe the last three years she has canned canned canned can can- ned approximately 2000 cans of food Miss rn n adds The Tatton family has diminished in size and Joe Ann was overtaxing the storage capacity of their home with her canned foods So in or order order order or- or der to get the additional experience required by the Kerr contest she had published in the Manti ManU Messenger Messenger Messenger Mes Mes- an offer to go to the h homes mes of others and aid in canning foods this summer And that is just what she has been doing Miss states further Every girl in Sanpete county has the same chance to win this award as Joe Ann We hope all foods girls will work toward this goal Other Sanpete Winners Thirty-eight Thirty style dress review entries were made at the State Fair Fairby Fairby Fairby by girls from all over the state j Thirteen of these were given blue ribbons and Roena Maylett of Manti ManU Man Man- ti U was one in the blue ribbon class Her dress was selected from the i thirteen to be sent to the Portland Oregon show v where it will be displayed displayed dis dis- played with entries from all western western west west- em ern states Carol Fjeldsted of Ephraim was I in the style dress review and did very well but her rating has not t I Ii i yet been received Miss I states Judges gave Sybil Olsen daughter daugh daugh- J 0 0 ter of Mr and Mrs Spencer Olsen i Ii and Mary Ann Bartholomew daughter daugh daugh- It Itter 1 ter of Mr and Mrs Glenn L.
