Show City Council Notes From Meeting l of November 8 1948 Marshall Eugene Tuttle reported that there have been several complaints complaints com corn plaints recently regarding articles stolen from cars He also reported that work was goi going on oh to make the th flag holders on the new light poles ready for Armistice Day Pool Hall Permit Favored A committee met with the council council coun coun- cil in regard to opening and operating operating operating oper oper- a pool hall hail in Manti It was proposed that the pool hall hail be lo lo- lo in the building formerly occupied by Elvins Elvin's Cafe in hi the Hotel building If this is to tobe tobe tobe be carried out the city ordinance forbidding pool halls will have to tobe tobe tobe be repealed The council favored the proposition and all but one of I the councilmen present voted to let the plans for a pool hall go through if the tile ordinance is repealed Final decision on the matter was put off until the next meeting of the council 1948 Pumping Rates Set SetA A discussion was held on the rate or power used by pumping of wells for irrigation On a motion by councilman Stanford Madsen with witha a second by Councilman Glen Anderson Anderson Anderson An An- derson the council voted to settle the 1948 power bills on the rate of 1 l c per KWH during peak load and Ac c per KWH for power drawn off the peak load The time for peak load and off peak load willbe will willbe willbe be divided equally 12 hours each per day No discussion was held heldon on the future rates to be charged for pumping |
