Show Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wolf and little daughter of San Francisco, California, are visiting in Milford for several days. Mrs. Wolf is the former Beth Coleman. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Stephens of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Argyle,' of Spanish Fork; were guests Sunday and Monday at the J. M. Hughes home. Mr. Stephens is a brother to Mrs. Hughes. John Van Dyke, vice president of the Prosper Mining company, who has been in Milford for some time, motored to Los Angeles over the week-end, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Spykerman, newly-weds of last week. Mrs. Jack Weston was hostess to her Bridge club Monday night. Those present were Mrs. Merrill Edwards, Mrs. Frank White, Mrs. Floyd Kotter, Mrs. Martin Corns, Mrs. Harold LaChapelle, Mrs. Lawrence Easton, Mrs. Kenneth Weston and Gertrude Dewey. Miss Margaret Cochrane, Miss Gladys Coleman and Gertrude Dewey were hostesses at a bridal shower given Tuesday at the Coleman home in honor of Mrs. Ray Spykerman (nee Miss Mary Banks). Bridge was enjoyed during dur-ing the evening by some thirty guests. Royal Y. Swapp has returned to his home in Kanab after a couple of weeks visit in Milford but Mrs. Swapp and their two sons, Paul and David Royal, will remain in Milford for two or three weeks longer. They are guests at the home of Mrs. Swapp's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams. The Monday Nigh Bridge club was entertained this week at the home of Mrs. J. M. Hughes. Those present were Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. J. C. j Smith, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. J. j M. Williams, Mrs. William Coch-I rane and Mrs. M. H. Pool. Prizes were won by Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Kirk and Mrs. Smith. " The regular meeting of the Pierian club was held Monday night at the home of Mrs. Vena H. Wilson. After several very interesting articles from the Colliers Col-liers and Liberty magazines were read and discussed, refreshments i were served by the hostess. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr., Mrs. Ed Bardsley, Mrs. 0. C. Koch, Mrs. R. F. White sr., and Mrs. Fred Roewe of Laurens, Iowa, sister to Mrs. Wilson. Returning home Wednesday from a business trip to Salt Lake City, M. H. Pool was accompanied by his father, W. H. Pool, who will spend a few weeks in Milford. Mil-ford. Mrs, Eddie Leech was hostess last Wdnesday evening to the "500" club, with Mrs. Ross Pat- terson receiving the high score prizes, Mrs. Bob Caperon' the I traveling prize and Mrs. Owen j Stokfcr the low1 prizq. Others present were Mrs. Wayne Lyman, Mrs. Pete Banks, Mrs. Tom James and Mrs. Charles MeCulley. Mrs. Fred Jefferson entertained Monday afternoon in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Ross Baxter. Ma7iy lovely gifts were received by the guest of honor. "500" was played and prizes were won by Mrs. Bax;r, Mrs.v James Gledn and Mrs. Charles Baxter. Light refreshments were served with a birthday cake. Others present were Mrs. Ed Bardsley, Mrs. Joe Rickerson, Mrs. Georgia Stone-hocker Stone-hocker and Mrs. George Litchfield. An installation party was held Monday night at the Union Pacific Paci-fic dining room by the Lady Firemen Fire-men and their husbands. "500" was enjoyed during the evening with Mrs. B. Hardy winning the high score prize for the women and Harry Garfield the high score prize for the men, while Mrs. Merrill Edwards and Jack Neely received the second high score prizes and Mrs. Neely the traveling travel-ing prize. The committee in charge of the party included Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. Harry Garfield and Mrs. J. E. Moore. The Legion Auxiliary held their regular monthly social last week at I'he home of Mrs. Ethel Nielsen. Niel-sen. Eridgie was enjoyed after which a dainty lunch was served by the committee consisting of Mrs. Nielsen and Mrs. Naomi Hughes. The prizes were won by Mrs. Lila Weber, Mrs. Jennie Bowen and Mrs. Dora Smithson.
