The Scriptural references include: in-clude: "Then came the- Jews round about him, and saiil unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. If I do not the works of my Father, believe mo not'. But if I do, though you. believe not me, believe be-lieve the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him". (John 10; 24,25,37, 38). The following correlatives arej used from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy: "Christ is the ideal Truth, that comes to heal sickness and sin through Christian Chris-tian Science, and attributes all power to God. Jesus is the name of the man who, more than all other men, has presented Christ, the true idea of God, healing the sick and the sinning and destroying destroy-ing the power of death. Jesus could have withdrawn himself from his enemies. He had power to lay down his human sense of life for his spiritual identity in the likeness of the divine; but he allowed men to attempt the de- slruction of the mortal body that he might furnish the proof of immortal im-mortal Life. His three days work in the sepulchre set the seal of eternity on time. Ho proved Life to be deathless and Love to be the master of hate". (P. 473; 10-15: 51; fi-11: 44; 7-10). |
