Show FIVE MAJOR CHANGES ARE MADE IN STATE FISH AND GAME CODE Five major changes were written into the game laws of Utah by the 'cri.-lators in their recent sessions. There were changes made in the licen- , se fee, seining is stopped in Utah Lake virtually until the law is changed, the fishing season was short-ei!edened short-ei!edened one month (Strawberry and Uish lakes remain the same) and stringent rules have been made regarding re-garding the taking of catfish. Additional Ad-ditional pressure was applied to the use of salmon eggs, etc. The general policy was to "bear down," but in the case of trapping, the season was lengthened len-gthened by two weeks on each the fall :.nd spring periods. The new license law requires that a man who just wants to fish may purchase pur-chase a fishing license for two dol-ars; dol-ars; those who hunt may purchase a hunting license for two dollars. A man who wishes to do both may get a license for three dollars. But a man who buys one can not buy the second seining will he allowed for two months each year, from October 1 to Novem-ler Novem-ler 30. This is a slack season for sale of fish and it is doubtful if any man could make it pay. Commissioner Commission-er Madsen says. This virutally closes clos-es Utah lake to the commercial seine until the law is changed. The license law further provides: ?5 trapping license for residents of : Utah; $7.50 fishing license for aliens (not good for hunting); $10 nonresident nonresi-dent license, for fishing and small game hunting (not good for deer hunting; $15 nonresident big game license, li-cense, for deer and bear; $3 nonresident nonresi-dent license, for fishing only. Utah docs not provide a short season sea-son license for fishing or hunting. No license is provided for hunting elk. Elk season and feed for huntinp ;s in hands of state game refuge committee. |
