Show JUNIOR RED CROSS Organization of JutfiO'r Red Cross in Teaver County schools, with Supt. . J. Frank Day as chairman of the . Juniors, is looked forward to as a new bond among local students and -i movement emphasizing to them lhat the great thing in life is "Service," "Ser-vice," in their living up to their motto, "I serve," which means that oach pupil is attempting to do1 something some-thing for those about him. The- only financial obligation is 'hat each classroom contribute 5 0c per year for subscription to the "Junior "Ju-nior Red Cross News." Anything done individually by the pupils, to earn their own money, may be done for the benefit of the children in the local school. For instance: im-pared im-pared digestion in children is generally gen-erally tracetble to faulty teeth, and children need dental care. As a local lo-cal fund to finance a dental clinic, Miss Edith Chaffee, Utah's Red Cross field representative suggested that one cent per month from each of the estimated number - of 1500 .children in the schools of this county, coun-ty, would be sufficient to finance such iV clinic. Supt. Day proposed that the figure be made five cents, indicating indicat-ing at once his approval of the school child putting to this worthwhile purpose pur-pose a portion of the money carelessly care-lessly spent each month. Local mothers and grandmothers are heartily in sympathy with this plan, and it is hoped that the Junior Red Cross may be fully organized in Beover County schools, and that the practical value of the organization may be recognized and permanently fostered. High School students have large opportunity in Junior work to' broaden broad-en their general knowledge of the history, geography and customs of other nations, through international correspondence with students in foreign for-eign schools. Intense interest enters into the exchange of pictures and various kinds of handiwork. Interpreters Inter-preters at National headquarters in Washington. D.
