Show LETTER TO EDITOR We ceceived this week the following follow-ing letter from one of our readeiu. relative to the highway in Miners-vilie Miners-vilie canyon. "Should I be granted space, Instead In-stead of the waste basket, I should like to attract the attention and cu-operation cu-operation of the driving public, and the interest of the county commissioners, commis-sioners, as well as that of Mr. Hutcti-ings. Hutcti-ings. road supervisor, to the condition condi-tion of "Hanging Rock," east of Minersville, and right in the path of the present valuable change being made in the road at that point. "I have watched the crevices lu chat menacing old monster and havu .'nuddered every time I have passed it for nearly nine years. After each Winter's snows have melted, and following fol-lowing each cloudburst, those cracks have deepened, and show signs of do lerioration. Many persons with whom I have discussed the matter deem It, as 1 do, a danger to vehicles passing under it, which is intensified by motor mo-tor vibrations. A few men, a few hours, a few drilled holes of good old dynamite, would rid us of this land mark, which would serve a nobler purpose r.s filling material on the edge of the highway at that point, just no, while the good work is going; on, ana traffic would' be hindered but a short time. It is my hope, that the Honorable Body of Commissioners reading the good old Beaver County papers will please notify our worthy editors that they may publish official acquiescence acquiescen-ce to this most humble but earnest plea of many road users. Cordially yours, Mrs. L. Maye Robinson. |
