Show SOUVENIR FROM OLD RATTLE SHIP SENT TO MAYOR HUBBELI. When the old battleship Oregon, the once prized fighting unit of Uncle Un-cle Sam's fleet, better known as the Bull Dog of the navy, was about to be sent out to sea and sunk as a target, tar-get, the Knights of Electra, through the assistance of former Congress man Elton Watkins, of Oregon, procured pro-cured from the Navy department a limited amount of bronze metal scrapped from the grand old ship. This precious metal, and it certainly certain-ly is precious, has been coined into beautifully designed souvenir tokens Manager M. H. Pool, of the local J. C. Penney company store, called upon Mayor O. F. Ilubbell this afternoon after-noon and presented him with one of these historic souvenirs. One side of the medallion shows a picture of the old battleship Oregon, Ore-gon, now permanently domiciled ir the navy yard at Bremerton, Washington. Wash-ington. Encircling the picture is the inscription, "Souvenir Metal from the Battleship Oregon, Bull Dpg of the navy." Upon the other side is a symbolic picture denoting progress toward the land of the setting sun with inscription, inscrip-tion, "Westward the Course of Empire Em-pire Takes Its Way," and encircling ! his.
