Show Locals H. E. Walker was a Salt Lake visitor vis-itor the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hughes spent the week end in Las Vegas. E. L. Ferguson went to Salt Lake Wednesday to spend a few days. Wm. Morley was a business visitor visi-tor in Pocatello the first of the week Miss Jennie Price is a new clerk in the Telluride office. The Beaver Valley Oil company truck is making frequent trips to town for supplies. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw went to Salt Lake City Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rudert, Miss Rudert and Miss McAllister motored to Cedar City Monday. Born Tuesday, March 2, to Mr. and Mrs. E. Campbell, a 9 1-2 lb daughter. Reuben Jones has purchased a 1926 Ford touring car through the L. G. Clay garage. Mrs. Douglas Murphy went to Fillmore Fill-more Wednesday to visit relatives a few days. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Adams left on Wednesday noon on a vacation trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles. F. W. Galnour left last week for Indianapolis. Ind., called there by the death of his father. Mrs. Nelson Calvert was called home to Colorado last week on account ac-count of her father's illness. Mrs. Walter Barnes and children left Saturday for Pomona, Calif., called there by the serious illness of the former's mother. Mrs. W7. F. Cottrell, who has spent the past two months with her sister in Portland, Oregan. returned home Sunday. Walter James, manager and director di-rector of the Beaver Valley Oil company com-pany is about the busiest man in this county, getting supplies and material. Mrs. Viola Chamberlain of Lyn-ndyl, Lyn-ndyl, arrived last Friday for a visit with her . parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ahern. Food Sale Circle No. 2 of the M. E. Ladies Aid will give a food sale at Jefferson's Saturday, March Cth at 2 p. m. Mrs. Cochrane. Mrs. Glen Haner arrived Tuesday morning from Ruth, Nevada, to visit some time at the home of her patents, pat-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stirling. Miss Barbara Fotherlngham returned re-turned Monday from Salt Lake City where she has spent the past two months. Mrs. Vern Rochek returned Tuesday Tues-day from a few days' visit with her husband, Who is working on the Pioche branch. Mrs. C. G. Haskell and children spent last week at the home of Mr. Haskell's sister, Mrs. E. C. Gray, at Thermo, while Mr. Haskell was in Cedar City on business. The Sunshine class of the M. E. Sunday school will hold a business meeting at the home of Miss Margaret Mar-garet Cochrane, Thursday night March 11. Mrs. G. Sudberry of Lynndyl, if visiting at the home of her sister. Mrs. J. H. Davis called here by the illness of little Alice Davis. Mr. -and Mrs. Fred Levi and Mrs Antone Johnson motored to Elsinor Tuesday, where the ladies visited their mother while Mr. Levi went on to Richfield on business. Mr. and Mrs. . Raymond Taylor and two children, arrived this week from Provo and are at home in the Tanner apartments. Mr. Taylor if the new clerk in the J. C. Penney store. Messre Roberts and Williams of the Lyons Construction company, were in from Laho to spend Sunday with their wives, who reside at the Martin terrace. Mrs. Dan Coleman and Wayne Simpson returned Monday from a visit with the latter's mother, near Ogden. They were accompanied home by little Claude Simpson. I Mrs. Wm. Webb and son, Lawrence, Law-rence, left Thursday noon for Osa-wotomiu, Osa-wotomiu, Kans., where they were called to see the former's daughter, .Mrs. Vivian Berry, who is seriously ill with pneumonia. Mrs. Berry spent the fall and early winter here with her parents. Word was received Monday of the death of Mrs. Lowell Carter in the Bingham hospital Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Carter were residents of Milford several years ago .and the deceased is a member of Rut.h Chapter, Chap-ter, O. E. S. She is survived by her husband and three small children, as well as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Meyers , came over from Milford and spent the week end visiting friends and relatives. Panguitch, Garfield Co. ! News. i Al McKeon left Monday in his car j for Randsburg, Calif., where he has employment in the Osdiek mine. He was accompanied by Jim Hatton who also is employed at the Osdiek and who has been visiting relative; here for several months. Mr. Hatton i is a former Beaver Bottoms resident A number of former Milfordites are employed at the Osdiek, among others oth-ers being Vic Johnson, Red Black Deloy White, Fred Jefferson and J. White. The latter is superintendent of the mine. Judge Thos. H. Burton of the i fifth judicial district is holding court for Judge Elias Hanson, of Provo this week. Judge Hanson was the judge who sat in the disbarment disbar-ment proceedings recently brought by William B Higgins against Judge Burton. It is selfevident that Judge Hanson doesn't place much credence cred-ence upon Higgin's charges or the evidence offered in support thereof, otherwise he would not have asked Judge Burton at .this time to occupy' his bench. |
