Show Edited by Miss Frances Sloan Phone 28 Will Entertain P. H. C. C. club Xrs. Charles Ford will entertain ' the P. H. C. C. club with three tables of 500 Thursday evening. The house' decorations will be in tune with the Christmas spirit and much joy and merriment is anticipated in the forms of Christmas gifts for each one. W. White, Miss Ardath Johnson and Miss Louise Levi. I Entertained At Dinner Dr. Charles R. Parrish entertained with an elaborate dinner at the U. P. dining room Saturday evening. He had as his guests, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kinney, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Grim-shaw Grim-shaw of Beaver. 1 G. I. A. Installation The G. I. A. held their regular installation in-stallation of officers Thursday, Dec. lGth. Officers installed are as fol-j lows: President, Ida Stirling; vice-president, vice-president, Flora Cuddy; past president, presi-dent, Alice Ransome; installing sec, Ethel Killiam; treasurer, Lois Wad-dingham; Wad-dingham; secretary, Loa Langenback-er; Langenback-er; chaplain, Josephine Calloway; guide, Fay Smith; sentinel, Ida -.Steenbock. Appointed officers musician, musi-cian, Betty Dawson; Flag bearer, .May Dewey; marshals, Delia Hanlon; Violet Jeffers- Delegate for convention, conven-tion, Josephine Calloway. Handkerchief Shower Given A surprise handkerchief shower was given to Mrs. Charles Sportsman Sports-man at her home Thursday evening. Those present were Mesdames Jeffers, Cuddy, Calloway, Ransome, Sterling, Peterson, Johnson, Ellison and the hostess, Mrs. Sportsman. Ruth Chapter O. E. S. A very fine attendance at . Ruth chapter 6 of the O. E. S., Tuesday evening, December 21 made the evening even-ing a pleasant social event. During j the regular business meeting the f ol- lowing officers for the ensuing year were installed: Pearl Moore, Worthy Matron; Charles E. Moore, Worthy Patron; Susan Baxter,' associate Matron; Ruth Williams, . secretary; Anna Cochrane, treasurer; Belle Fernley, Conductress; Vena Wilson, associate conductress; Grace. Hoke, Adah; Mae Dev.ej, Ruth; Lulu Clay, Ester; Ida Stirling, Martha; Sarah Horton, Electa; Orpha Johnson, marshall; Wm. Cochrane, warden; Wm. Stirling, sentinel- A social hour followed the installation and a delicious delici-ous lunch was served to the members and visitbrs, under the capable leadership leader-ship of Past Worthy Grand Matron, Mary Roper, and her associates. The chapter has just finished a very successful suc-cessful year. They are looking forward for-ward with much interest to the visitation visita-tion of the Grand lecture in January. The New Year promises a continuation continua-tion of the finer spirit of cooperation which characterized the work of 1926, and the newly installed officers will have the loyal support they so richly merit. Bridal Shower Given A bridal shower was given Saturday Satur-day evening in honor of Mrs. Wm. Niel, a recent bride. . The house was profusely decorated in Christmas colors which made a bright and happy scene. 500 was enjoyed throughout the evening and resulted in frist prize being won by Mrs. Dan Coleman and second prize to Miss Melba Schow. Delicious refresments were served to the following guests:: Gwen Boden, Grace Turner, Claudia Coleman, Ireta . Nillson, Mary Vincent, Arvilla Muir, Lillian Atkin, Mrs. J. .Atkin, Mrs. O. R. Smith, Nellie Griffiths, Mrs. D. A. Tanner, Mrs- Cross, Melba Schow, Erva Baker, Mary White, Lena Davis, and Mrs. James Davis. The young bride received many beautiful gifts. Saturday Dinner Club Entertain The members of the Saturday Dinner Din-ner Club entertained at a 7 o'clock Dutch, dinner at the Atkin hotel Saturday Sat-urday evening in honor of Mrs. Chas. R. Parrish, absent member. The centerpiece was a gaily decorated Christmas tree with, a gift for each member, which with the unique place cards created much merriment. After dinner all repaired to the home of Mrs. Rolf Bellingmo to play bridge. Mrs. Charles Newhart winning high score. The rest cut for the hostess prie which was awarded to Mrs. Geo. Fernley. The consolation was awarded award-ed to Mrs. Wm. Morely. Club members mem-bers were: Mesdames Rolf Bellingmo, Wm. Morely, Charles Sloan. Geo. Fernley, Charles, Newhart, Frank Calloway, Charles Moore. Mrs-Grover Mrs-Grover Cuddy was an invited guest. |
