Show (UNIVERSITY HAS PACKAGE LIBRARY NOW Following the lead of large institutions in-stitutions of learning, the University of Utah Extension division ha3 instituted in-stituted a "package library" and a department to aid in home reading. This department is open to all people in the state as well as those in bordering states. The "package library" is composed of seven hundred or more packages of clippings on current subjects. The material is gathered from authora-tive authora-tive magazines, government bulletins, and pamphlets compiled by educational educa-tional institutions. It represents the latest thought on a very wide range of subjects. Library clubs and other organizations, organiza-tions, as well as individuals, by writing writ-ing to the Extension division can obtain, ob-tain, free of charge, the material gathered in the package library, also book reports, reading course outlines, out-lines, and biographical sketches. High schools and clubs throughout the state have already been very capably serviced by this department, which, since its installation has more than tripled its size. This department works in connection connec-tion with the University of Utah library and when reference books are desired by people throughout the state, they are sent if they are on hand. Sixteen hundred such services have been performed by this department depart-ment for people, not only in Utah, but in Idaho, Arizona and Colorado, since the commencement of the school year. |
