Show ROAD CONTROL MIGHT HELP ON CANYON ROAD The road up Beaver canyon is just about to be opened up to Puffer's lake. It is a nice piece of work, but like all new mountain roads, it is a trifle narrow and soft in places. This is always the case, as the traveling public is always in a hurry to get to using the now road. However, as time goes by the , soft places are made hard, the rough places are smoothed out and "turn-outs" provided pro-vided where needed, or the entire road widened so as to permit vehicles vehi-cles to pass at nearly all points. But until such time as the road can be provided with ample room to pass, it might be a good thing for the county authorities to divide the road into controls of one hour each. To illustrate The first control we will say would be from the upper Tellu-ride Tellu-ride station to Lousy Jim and the control opened on the even hour going go-ing up and kept open thirty minutes. The centrol coming down would open op-en on the odd hour and remain open thirty minutes. This would' give all vehicles thirty minutes to get out of the control. We will say that you arrive at the upper station at 5:44. You would have to wait 16 minutes before you couild start up the hill; but if you arrived there any time between be-tween 6 and 6:30, you would be allowed al-lowed to proceed on your way. l: you arrived there at 9:31, you would have to wait 29 minutes or until 10 o'clock; but if you should happen to arrive there at 10:31, you would not be allowed to start up until 12 o'clock,. This would cause every driver to attempt to be at the entrance en-trance to the control on time. Another control might be from the upper end of the Box canyon below the Tushar ranger station and Puffer Puf-fer lake. This road is going to receive re-ceive a lot of travel this summer and it would be too bad if a serious accident acci-dent should occur. Let us hope that the commissioners will see fit to establish es-tablish some sort of rules for the protection pro-tection of the traveling public. a. |
