Show Telluride Power Co. ; Cooking School is in Progress Here ' The cooking school conducted here Thursday andi Friday under the auspices aus-pices of the Telluride Power company com-pany was attended by an enthusiastic group of ladies. Miss Alice McCaff-ree, McCaff-ree, who has been giving demonstra -: t.ionsi of this sort through the stare, was assisted in the work by Miss Lindquist. Both ladies are experts in this line. The use of the New Westinghouse Automatic range was demonstrated, accompanied by lectures on food values. val-ues. Illustrations were given, showing show-ing the superiority of the electric ' range to the gas or coal range usually usual-ly found in the modern kitchen, j Many valuable recipes and hints for serving food attractively were given. Miss McCaffree- showed how much drudgery commonly attached lo housekeeping could avoided, if the kitchen was equipped! with electrical elec-trical appliances. She also pointed out the economy in using electricity instead of coal, or gas for cooking. Mr. Cluff, of the Telluride Powe. company, and Mr. Walker, who Is with the Westinghouse people, gave interesting lectures on the use am, merits of the Westinghouse range. Much credit is due the Telluride Power company for making it possible possi-ble for housewives living in outlying ' districts to enjoy the advantages of such a school, usually conducted in only the larger cities of the state. I 'gives women who have not had the opportunity to attend classes in Home Economics an equal chance with those who have. Miss McCaffree will be remember-' remember-' ed for her excellent work here las ' year. Many who attended then, have ' receivod a great amount of benefit from it and are very enthusiastic about the class this year. |
