Protesting against the "2 per cent statistics of miners' wages" issued by the department of labor, a letter addressed to James J. DaviB, secretary of labor, by John Brophy, president of district No. 2 of the United Mine Workers Monday took sharp issue witli the figures given giv-en out by the department and asked the secretary of he regarded ?7G0 a year as a saving wage.
