Show Milford High School Items of Week By Studentbody The Minersville girls accepted our challenge, arriving on time, but we are sorry to say, the game did not. However, it finally began, and Minersville Min-ersville pitched the first basket. The next two points had the honor of being be-ing on Milford's side. But the score at the first quarter was in favor of Minersville, 5 to 3. The score remained re-mained in their favor for the first half. But the third quarter was in our favor and the score was touch and go for the rest of the game. The finality was in MinersviHes favor, 15 to 12. But even if we are doomed to lose all our games this year, the team next year will profit by experience, and so Beaver has accepted our challenge chal-lenge to play Friday afternoon. Immediately following the game the active members of the gym class staged a successful party of which the Minersville girls and their partners part-ners were the guests. Saturday, following the game with Lynndyl, the Seniors gave a return . party, the Sophomores being the .guests of honor. The lively Eighth grade, finding no date open for which they coulc use the gym, gave theirs in the form of a 'weinie roast." Five carloads were insufiicient to take them all, but those who walked had the best of the bargain anyway. Climbing stunts and dinner followed, with great hilarity and enjoyment. A moonlight ride with frequent stops for tire trouble, only added to the .general merriment and everyone .ar .rived home in great spirits. The Seventh grade also hiked to Yellow Banks and though they might have been bothered with blisters, blis-ters, at least they didn't have to coax an eccentric horseless carriage at a snail's pace. Everyone chimed iu on a ripping good time. For once the Juniors are honestly honest-ly expending a little surplus of high spirits and energy in work. In fact some are getting gray hairs. But we know from experience what From days mean and aren't really expecting expect-ing to be at all surprised if the entire en-tire class appears with silvery crown of glory, or with none at all. Tuesday everyone joined, or was expected to, in on a general cleaning Floors, windows, paint and campus were all given a thorough once over. And although some students were a little slack, everyone had something some-thing to do. The Award dance has been definitely defi-nitely set for April 2. Sweaters, let ters and other medals and symbols of school spirit and activities will be awarded. The basketball boys, possibly pos-sibly the football boys and dramatic club will be the lucky ones, April 2 |
