Show : BEAVER CITY SEEKS j WATER FOR POWER USE ! Application for twenty-five second-j second-j feet of water from Beaver river was i filed at the office of Ged. M. Bacon, I state engineer, Tuesday by R. C. i Murdock, mayor of Beaver City. The ' water is wanted for the use of the ' city in developing about 1000-horse-power of electric current. The water would be taken from the stream near its headwaters and conveyed through a thirty-six inch pipe line some 20,-000 20,-000 feet to the site of the present municipal mu-nicipal power plant, where it would be used to operate a thirty-six-inch Pelton wheel under a head of 600 feet. Beaver City made application years ago for permission to divert water from Beaver river. This application was protested by the Telluride Power I company, and when the city failed to start work within six months, as allowed by law, the state engineer canceled the application. Sixty days were allowed in which to appeal from the engineer's decision, but no appeal was taken and the application was revoked. Details of the application filed Tuesday are practically the same as those of the former application. The present municipal plant of Beaver is said to be taxed to capacity to meet the demands of the municipality and adjoining farms. Salt Lake Tribune. |
