Harwood, head of the University Uni-versity of Utah art department, has placed on exhibi.ion at the University Univer-sity Art gallery, a collection of water colors entitled "The March of the Seasons," in which the devotee of the open will find delight and inspiration Liberty park, in this city as it was nearly a decade ago, is the subject treated by Mr. Harwood in the majority ma-jority of his pictures Most of the work was done from fifteen to eighteen eigh-teen years ago, when mose of the big area that is now the landscaped gardened gar-dened park was in the state of primitive primi-tive wilderness. The work of Mr. Harw-ood is characterized char-acterized by a well defined accuracy of technic, a fine control of color effects, ef-fects, and a genuinely artistic insight in-sight into the beauty and mesasge of nature. 1 In addition to the Harwood collection collec-tion which occupies the north pide of the gallery, there is shown the Alic" Art collection, the official collection col-lection of the state of Utah. The Alice collection is representative of most of the Utah artists as well as a number of eminent artists from all over the United States. The collection collec-tion contains pain'ings. water colors etchings, and works of sculpture thit are worthy of careful study.
