Show UNION PACIFIC MAGAZINE i Omaha, May 1G Ten builders of the Union Pacific railroad are still living, according to the May number I of the Union Pacific Magazine, which commemorates the 54th anniversary !of the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory, Utah, May 10, 1S6D. The ten survivors and their present 'addresses are W. B. Doddridge. Chicago; Chi-cago; A. F. Doremus, Tooele. Utah; IE. C. Lockwood, Cleveland; W. J. ( Gooding, Chicago; E. W. Winter, N. :Y.; W. N. Shilling, Portland; and Scott Davis. Denver. The first regu-jlar regu-jlar passenger service on the Union Pacific was established in 1867, be- tween Omaha and North Platte, according ac-cording to W. B. Doddridge, who j presents in the May number his recollections recol-lections of a half century under the caption "Pioneer Days on the Union Pacific." '' |
