Show LOCALS and PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. William Martin returned re-turned last week from a months' visit in Los Angeles, Cal. Mrs. G. R. Wilcox returned Saturday Satur-day from a motor trip to Provo, with a party of young peole. Miss Lucile Franke has returned to Salt Lake after spending a delightful summer here with her relatives and many friends and visiting the canyons. can-yons. Mrs. Will Miller visited Mrs. Wm. Hurst at Beaver during Fair week. Mrs. Merill Miller joined her there Saturday for the afternoon, both returning re-turning to Milford. Mrs. Walter N. White, wife of the Government Engineer, has been quite ill at their home on the High school hill. Max Trautman of San Bernardino, was here the first of the week looking look-ing after his alfalfa seed ranch south of town. Mr. Trautman is very much pleased with the developments here and says that notlung can stop the rapid development of the Milford shallow well pumping district. E. E. Gray is putting down a new well on C. G. Haskell's north place. && Mr. and Mrs. James Christen-sen Christen-sen and family who have been visiting visit-ing her brother, Warren 0. Ferguson, at Tompkin, Nevada, and were en route to their home at Richfield, spent Tuesday night here with her sister, Mrs. Roy Coleman and family. A. A. Hillary returned recently from Los Angeles, Cal. Mrs. Hillary remained for a few weeks longer stay and help her son Jack, get located locat-ed for his school work. Jack left Monday of last week to attend school at the southern California University. Mrs. Chas. Ford spent the week end at Los Angeles. George O. Barlow of Salt Lake City, agent for the Hardware and Implement Mutual Insurance company, com-pany, was in town Tuesday. Mrs. Dave Reese and children spent the week end at Provo. John H. Baker of Beaver, was in town Monday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ryan of Pine Valley, have moved into the Forgie apartments. Miss Alice Ward returned Monday morning- from Los- Angeles, where she has spent the summer, to begin her school work. Miss Hattie Whornham, County Librarian of Beaver, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Nancy Whornham, and brother George Whornham left Monday noon for Rexburgh, Idaho, having been, called by the illness of Mr. Whornham's baby, who is quite sick at the home of it's grandparens in Idaho Among the teachers who are living at the Forgie apartments this year i are: Miss Cecil Tebbs, Nell Hunting- ' ton, Anne Cartwright, Elva J. Stubbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Stout. Miss Betty Wetzel of Salt Lake City, is here visiting her grand- . mother, Mrs. Otto Steenbock, for several sev-eral months and go to school. C Nebeker Harry Shirk of Cedar City, arrived here Saturday and has leased the Flatiron building which will be known now as "Harry's Filling Station" where the path of good eats end at Harry's Mr. and Mrs. Harry Taylor returned return-ed Tuesday morning from a fishing trip to Fish Lake, bringing back a fine catch of Rainbow trout, one of which they presented the editor and family, which they enjoyed eating very much. Miss Sophronia Hawley, who has been here visiting her sister, Mrs. Vena Wilson, for the past month, left Monday evening for Los Angeles. She was accompanied by her friend, Miss Hildora Bach, from Fergus Falls, Minn., who Jias been here visiting for the past week. After spending several weeks in California they will return to their home in New York by way of the Panama Canal. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fine who have been here visiting her sister, Mrs Frank Goff, started for their home in California Sunday noon driving a fine new Packard sedan. When near Touquerville, they ran off the grade and the car turned over three times. Mrs. Fine was hurt quite badlv and was taken to the Cedar hospital. Mr. Fine escaped without any injuries. The car was badly smashed. Mr. andMrs. Lloyd Kohler returned return-ed home Saturday from Salt Lake City- . A Mr. and Mrs. John Evans returned Monday from a few days' stay at Salt Lake City. Miss Lucile Huntington of Beaver, will attend school at Logan this year and specialize in music. Mrs. Vena Wilson entertained at dinner Sunday at 2 o'clock for her sister, Miss Sophronia Hawley, and Miss Hildora Bach, of New York, Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell. Mr. and Mrs. G. R Wilcox return-ed return-ed Thursday of last week from the U. P. Meet at Provo. They were accompanied ac-companied by Superintendent Lang and two daughters of Los Angeles, California. They all spent Friday and Saturday at Bryces' Canyon. Miss Louise Huntington of Beaver, I will attend school at the University of Utah this year and will stay with Mrs. Ralph Pitchforth. Mrs. Geraldine Smithson Mathus and daughter Marian, arrived here Saturday from Seattle, Wash., to visit her father and sister, Dan i i . i |
