Show LIOWOUBHAVE SPEAKERS AT MEET The Milford Lion's club gathered around the table Wednesday noon at the Atkin Cafe. President Jos. R. Murdock, presiding and Pool and Parrish singing. Gordon and Bowman Bow-man were visitors. President Murdock read the Lion's Code and then called upon different members to give impromptu talks on subjects chosen from the code. To Schiess was assigned the subject of Loyalty; to Jefferson, Objects and Aims of the Club; to Cline, Community Com-munity Spirit; to Pool, New Ideas and Co-operation; to Karlton, the. Golden Rule in Business. Taken as a whole, they were the best talks ever given the local club. The next meeting of the club will be held Wednesday noon, September 28, at the U. P. dining room. E. J. Johnson, O. Thurshy, David Lund, and F. H. Anderson, all of Ephriam, were here a couple of days this past week. Miss Zelphia Urie was visiting Mr. and Mrs. McMurphy at the Atkin this week. Ross Johnson, Sam Baird, and A. H. Harris, mining men of Salt Lake City were here yesterday. The card party advertised for Thursday evening to be given by the Service Star has been postponed until un-til Monday, Sept. 19th at Atkin Cafe at 8 o'clock. Refreshments, prizes and a program. O. P. Pearce is over from Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Worth of Ogden, were here yesterday. F. R. Williams, Geo. M. Haley, Salt Lake; Mrs. Lester Thomas, Lund; D. D. Perceily, Los Angeles; E. R." Murdock and son and Miss Talniadge, Oakland, Cal.; and J. E. Evans and Byron E. Forbes of Cali-ente, Cali-ente, were all here Tuesday. Mrs. Jay Jeffers and Mrs. Walter Bozartli and children of Las Vegas, spent the forepart of last week at Provo. They returned Thursday, and Sunday Mrs. Bozarth accompanied by Mrs. John Hitnlan returned to their home at Las Vegas. |
