Show I Eight Wells Are Going Down Now In Virgin Oil Field Work on the underreaming job at Diamond Fork is progressing more favorably, according to officials offi-cials of the Diamond Oil company, and the water shutoff is expected within the next few days. A great deal of time was consumed drilling through a hard lime shell, in which the driller was enabled to make only a few inches each day. Now this shell has been penetrated and from 3 to 4 lengths of casing are being put in the well each day. Just as soon as the shutoff is effected ef-fected the drill will be set in motion mo-tion for deeper hole, and officials of the company anticipate that the pay sand' will be reached within a few feet of the present bottom of the hole. The hole is now said to be bottomed in the upper member mem-ber of the Pennsylvania lime. Latest reports from the Virgin field indicate that the deep . test being made by the Isenberg inter ests is still held up on account of the cementing job placed in the well about two weeks ago. The cement ce-ment did not set properly and another effort is being, made to shut off the water so thsft drilling may be resumed. There is considerable consid-erable activity in the Virgin fie'.d, eight wells being drilled and it is anticipated that the lower Pcnn-slyvania Pcnn-slyvania sand in the Washington field will be proven productive early this season.
