Show Milford has a baseball team of which she is justly proud. The public should support the team by attending the games and "rooting" for the home boys. However, the NEWS believes that the management could do much tc encourage public patronage by enforcing strict rules against betting in the, stands. Besides being pernicious in its influence upon the young, the practice is very annoying to those who wish to witness a game in peace, especially so to the ladies. By barring this objectionable feature and seeing to it that "half-stewed" individuals do not gain access ts the stands, there can be no good reason why the public should not generously patronize these games, for the home team always gives "value received." |
