The Boy Scouts of America is an organization formed by a group of men who are anxious that the boys of America should come under the influence in-fluence of a movement that will build them up in character and good citizenship. The affairs .of the organization are managed by some of the most prominent men of our county. It is not an organization that is an auxiliary to some special church set or creed, but purely American, and has been developed on such broad 'lines as to embrace all classes and all creeds. At the same time it challenges chal-lenges a boy to attend to the great-est great-est growth and development spiritually, spirit-ually, mentally and physically. A hearty response, we helped Un- cle Sam win the war. now we face the future. The call is to build for a greater and better America. The boys are the citizens of tomorrow. What that tomorrow will be. depends de-pends upon what we do for the boys 1 today. Are we satisfied with pres ent attainment? A new nay is Hawning, and we can make that a brighter day by helping the future citizens. ' Milford is to have Scouts. To be a, success they must have the best playgrounds, equipment and encouragement encour-agement to make the organization efficient. Fortunately the money has been provided through the vote for Columbia Col-umbia campaign. A true Scout loves his country, loves God and his fellowmen in fact before a boy becomes a Scout, he subscribes to the following oath: "On my honor I will do my best: I. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout law. II. To help other people at all times. III. To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally moral-ly straight. A Scout is trustworthy, is loyal, is friendly, is courteous, is kind, is obedient, is cheerful, is brave clean and reverent. In all the calls of American citizenship, citi-zenship, Milford has not failed, her record is clean Every call of the government has been met. Every boy in Milford, between 12 and IS years of age should identify himself with the Scouts. - Let every citizen of Milford boost and the organization Willi be a success. suc-cess. BOOST. C. E. K. |
