Show THIRTY SHIPPERS IN RATE DISCUSSION. Thirty shippers o Salt Lake, Og-den, Og-den, and Provo, said to be the largest larg-est company of business men gathered gath-ered to discuss freight rates, met in Salt Lake this week and planned to continue their campaign for readjustment re-adjustment of rates to relieve Utah from discrimination. The local shippers maintain that while class rates from the East to the intermottntain region are approximately approx-imately 66 2-3 per cent of the class rates from the same points to the Pacific coast, the commodity rates from eastern points to points in the intermountain territory are approximately approxi-mately the same as those to the Pacific Pa-cific coast, and it is the latter condition condi-tion which the shippers seek to have adjusted. A convention of shippers in this territory was suggested, but given up as impracticable, though the Utah traffic bureau was asked to secure se-cure the cooperation of other intermountain inter-mountain states to file their complaints com-plaints when the Uttah project is sent to the interstate commerce commission. |
