Show WHAT WILL THE H. S. DO Most of the schools throughout the state are planning to run six days in the we.-k and increase the number of si jily hours during the day and dls-f!i!! dls-f!i!! with athletics and other amuse-in amuse-in its. We instinctively ask the fine-tion Will the Beaver County llit'h School do likewise? Because of the home study work we did before Christmas, our high sc hool can teach one half day Saturdays Satur-days an.l make up all lost time. It's social activities will not be neglected, but quite rhe contrary. It is planned to make the social features very prom inent. The new coach is looking for basket bas-ket ball material, in anticipation of some lively games: other features of the department will receive due con- sideration. The musical department, aside from its regular entertainments, will take 1 charge of many of the chapel periods to which the public will be invited. ; The commercial department is planning a series of lectures, to which the public will be asked. A commercial commer-cial club ball and probably a special entertainment will be given. An effort ef-fort will be made to bring before the commercial students, the practical problems of the merchants, their solHtion etc. As a stimulent for debating, Mr. Heyrend is offering two debating pins to the champion inter-class debaters. de-baters. Besides this and other inter-class inter-class activities, the different classes are clamoring for a "date in the "gym." We must not forget the French and Home Economic clubs, the plans of which are not yet known. Without doubt they have something interesting interest-ing for us. Of course there will be work to do but the maxim, "Work while you work and play while you play" will be- followed. fol-lowed. Students who elect to make up lost work, will find plenty to do, but not too much, and well seasoned with enthusiasm en-thusiasm and pleasure. |
