Show IS NEW ASSISTANT ADJUTANT Russell G. Creviston, Who Has Seen Much Active Service, Is Appointed to Important Position. Russell G. Creviston, who has been annolnted assistant national adjutant of the American Legion by F. W. Galbraith, Jr., national na-tional commander, was director of organization or-ganization at national na-tional headquarters headquar-ters from November, Novem-ber, 1919, to October, Oc-tober, 190. A Hoosler by birth. Mr. Creviston Crevis-ton enlisted In May, 1917, in company com-pany E of the Fou rth Indiana infantry. He served as a private In this company for three months when he was selected select-ed as a candidate from his company to tlie second officers' training camp at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. After his graduation from the camp he was given complete charge of the administration co-ordination section of the general staff of the eighty-fourth division. Mr. Creviston assisted in the organization organ-ization of a vocational training system, and In this connection was transferred to the Inspector's division and given charge of the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Minne-sota, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Da-kota, where he established various student army training corps. After the completion of the S. A. T. C. movement, Mr. Creviston was transferred trans-ferred to the general staff and put In charge of the ninth district commission commis-sion on training camp activities. With the rank of captain he covered Dine states of the Middle West in the interest in-terest of bettering camp and non-camp cities during the demobilization period. pe-riod. He was discharged June 7, 1919, and accepted a position in the Community Com-munity Service, Inc. of New York, which loans his services to the American Amer-ican Legion. |
