Show ! SOCIAL ITEMS ! j IN HONOR OF MR. AND MRS BAILEY On Thursday evening a very elaborate elab-orate dinner was given at Hotel At-kin At-kin in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Art Bailey. The viands and settings with the elegant costumes worn by the ladies helped out by the dignified appearance of the gents in full evening even-ing clothes presented a picture that would attract any eye. Those seated at the table were Mr. and Mrs. Art Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Garratt Wilkin, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. D. Wooley, Miss Helen Palmer, Mr. George Jefferson Jef-ferson and Mr. Shirley S. Atkin. Mrs. L. E. Hicks is busy preparing her line of spring millinery for the Milford ladles. The gowns worn by the ladies at the recent ball given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Art Bailey were magnificent. Such an elegant display of silks, satins sat-ins and fine laces were all in harmony har-mony and good taste and is seldom seen in a town the size of Milford. COLONIAL SOCIAL A large crowd enjoyed a most pleasant social at the Methodist church Thursday evening. It was the celebration of our first president's birthday and many were in costume to represent the occasion. George Washington, and even Uncle Sam were present. A splendid program was given after af-ter which a guessing contest of the presidents was enjoyed. Miss Mills and Miss Evans drew the prize which was a large red hatchet. Delicious refreshments were servid. The program was as follows: America by congregation. Flag Salute by primary class. Recitations Dalton Hicks, John Benton. Chas Glenn. , Solo Mrs. Dondanville.
