Show ROAD BILLS INTRODUCED The committee on highways and bridges introduced three measures for the furtherance of the good roads movement in Utah. The first is aimed to aid the state road commission commis-sion in determining the width of the roads in different counties. The county commissioners now fix the width. Under the provisions of the new measure the state road commission commis-sion must approve of the width decided de-cided upon. An expenditure by the state road commission of $25,000 for road building equipment is authorized by the second measure. The money is to be drawn from the fund arising from the sale of motor vehicle and chaffeur licenses. Under the third bill the county i-would be ahle to issue promissory notes to meet current expenses where the county funds are not sufficient. It is stipulated that no note shall bear more than 8 per cent. |
