You Sleep T0WNB0ARD'S LONG NIGHT SESSION City Officials Diligent and Efficient in Public Business BOARD DISCUSSES SUNDRY MATTERS MAT-TERS FOR BETTERMENT OF MILFORD The town board of Milford held an interesting and busy session last Saturday night in the office of J. A. Ingols, city clerk. There were present Mayor Ralph Pitchforth, Trus- tees Elmer, Hickman and Hanks Marshal Baxter, City Clerk In- gols and Health Officer Mc- -Keon, as well as a few spec- tators. f Bond Proceedings The passing of various or- dinances and matters In con- nection with the sale of the sewer bonds occupied much of the time of the board. Attorney's Bill Tabled A number of claims were allowed. The bill of City Attorney Shirley Atkins At-kins for $100 for'services was laid on the table for further information. New Firo Equipment The request of the fire department for some new wrenches and a spray nozzle was granted. Trustee Hickman Hick-man was also authorized to replace two fire hydrants that have been damaged. Vicious Dog Doomed The matter of a dog, said to be vicious and which it is claimed attacked at-tacked a little girl, tearing her clothing clo-thing and biting her limbs until they bled was discussed at length. The marshal has been instructed to kill the dog. It seems Unit the owner own-er refuses to give up the dog. The disposition of the case was loft in the hands of the marshal and the mayor. Gambling Must Cease Gambling for drinks in saloons. Illegal card games in saloons and in pool halls, punch boards and other gambling devices were put under the ban by the board and the marshal was instructed to notify the keepers of all places where such gambling is known to be carried on to stop the practice. The saloons and billiard halls will be requested to remove card tables. Now Filing Cabinets The accumulation of valuable records re-cords and papers made necessary a place of keeping them and City Clerk Ingols was authorized to purchase the necessary filing cabinets for such purpose. The board adjourned at 11:20 p. m. |
