Show . MINERSVILLE NOTES Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Dotson are rejoicing re-joicing in the arrival of a baby girl, born Sunday, February 18. Considerable alarm has been felt over the appearance of several cases of the measles among the children of the town, but so far the outbreak has not assumed a serious aspect. On the evening of Friday, February Febru-ary 17, the local team was defeated in a hard, fast game with the boys from Fillmore. The brand of ball displayed by the M. H. S. boys was surprisingly good, coming at the end of a hard season, but confronted by the speed and teamwork of the Fillmore Fill-more boys they could only come off second best. Though handicapped by the smallness of the hall in which they have played half their games, the boys have made a good showing in their first year as members of the league and have won the enthusiastic support of the school and town by the class of basket bali characterizing characteriz-ing the majority of their games. It is understood that they are to close the season in a game with the faculty, which, judging by a similar affair on Lincoln's Birthday, will not be entirely a slaughter of the instructors. in-structors. The sudden appearance of a rabid j coyote in the streets and door yards of Minersville created a stir through- out the town on Wednesday morn-j morn-j ing. After biting several dogs and giving some of the neighbors a good ; scare, il was killed by George II. Eyre. |
