Show SPECIAL SCHOOL TAXES Lasf"week we devoted nearly all of our front page to our schools. The articles of our pupils were exceptionally ex-ceptionally good and deserved a great deal of credit. They were the result of much work, deep thought and good training. Results of this kind cannot be continued unless we keep our schools up to' the standard. Our school board finds itself handicapped handicap-ped by a shortage of funds and an increase of cost in every department depart-ment material, salaries, supplies etc, cost more than ever before. Buildings, which two years ago when the school estimates were made, would have cost $100,000 now cost $150,000 and everything else at the same rate. The only thing for our school board to do was to put the question of more money squarely square-ly up to the people, and this they have done. Now it is for the people peo-ple to decide whether they want to keep our schools on the up grade or want them to become demoralized demoral-ized and a disgrace to Beaver county. coun-ty.
