Show RODENT CONTROL W HEN TO POISON Many farmers are alarmed when they see the first ground squirrels come out in the spring. This little animal hibernates in its hole over winter and begins to come out as soon as spring weather opens up in the spring. The males are the first to come out. Later the females fe-males come out and the mating season sea-son lasts about three to four weeks. The mother carries her young 21 days. They are blind seventeen days and begin to come out of their hole in about twenty-five days after birth. bir-th. In order to be most effective in poisoning squirrels, the bait should be put out where the greatest number num-ber of females can be caught. This will be about four weeks after the first females come out. This will catch them when they are all out and before any of the young have become be-come old enough to rustle for themselves. them-selves. About the first or second week in April should be early enough in this county. Our poison is limited this year, so we should make it most effective. ef-fective. Farmers should locate their colonies as they are inclined to locate lo-cate in squirrel towns. We can only poison about the borders bor-ders of the fields and especially over their colonies. There's one important thing that should not be overlooked. All the farmers, of an era to be poisoned, should cooperate in this wark. It is the farm bureau organization that is promoting the project and for this reason, cooperators must join the farm bureau. Don't be a cheap skate. sk-ate. Help to put things over. It's only the I.
