So here's . I ''-H5 a hint get collars, lace tuMii-"" collars, pique collars, billowy bil-lowy organdy collars; get jabots as dainty and lacy as they make 'em, get be-frilled dickeys and huge lace-bow lace-bow gilets; stock up also on frills and ruches to lavish at necklines and on sleeves, for with them you can make your simplest basic dress take on the "be pretty" mood that fashion decrees for spring and summer. sum-mer. Important on the spring fashion program is the suit or the suit frock that is fashioned of black or navy bengaline or faille, given feminine allure with a lovely, lacy, frilly jabot that billows out at the neckline. See this smart mode illustrated to the left in the above picture. This flattering flat-tering semi-tailored suit frock is styled effectively in luxurious jet-black jet-black rayon bengaline, this rayon weave being one of the choicest, most - to - be - desired suit fabrics brought out this season. Button up this trim jacket, and the costume takes on a conservative tailored look for informal town wear. For the dressier afternoon affair, the becoming becom-ing jacket top is opened at the neck to show a rufSy blouse of snowy rayon chiffon that flaunts a jabot in all its feminine loveliness. The all-around dress for spring, such as is shown to the right, is given distinction in the unique use of a lace flare on the sleeves. Here rows and rows of delicate white lace form striking bell sleeve cuffs. It makes this lace feature all the more striking that classic simplicity is maintained at the unadorned round neckline save for a self-fabric bow at each side. Given a simple black crepe frock like this, with a whole wardrobe of lacy lingerie collars and other fantasies such as lace bows to be used in sets of three or four on the bodice or a group of lace butterflies butter-flies to clip here and there, and you can make this same dress serve the purpose of half a dozen or more. This season's collars and various neckwear items are so fascinating they baffle description, as, for instance, in-stance, the handsome pin-wheel collar col-lar of white faille shown in the top inset. Here the lattice-work theme, considered so ultrasmart this season, sea-son, is worked out to a nicety, making mak-ing a most interesting design. How lovely it will be on a navy frock or on your basic black rayon crepe! Every neckwear collection should include one or more jabots, for jabots are among fashion's pet hobbies hob-bies this season. You'll prize an exquisite jabot of lovely eyeleted organdy, or-gandy, such as the dainty-as-a-doilie type pictured in the inset to the left below. Note the tiers of ruffled organdy, or-gandy, how they spill out from under the tiny collar encircling the throat. Fine lace of intricate patterning Is fashioned into a frilled collar of exceptional beauty as shown in the lower-right corner. Semi-circles of embroidered organdy border the deep V-neckline with dainty turnover collar There is no end to the ingenuity expressed in terms of lace and embroidery em-broidery and frills and ruches of filmy sheers. For example, a new vogue is that of the lingerie blouse lavished with lace frills and wee velvet ribbon threaded through lace beading, the artful lace and ribbon being repeated in a perfectly little charming chapeau. Then there are the new boas of ruffle upon ruffle of organdy, or you will find neck pieces of box-pleated veiling in lovely pastels, the same worked to cuff gloves and more than likely to create a dainty hat to com-' plete the ensemble.
